No one knows the original name of this deadly spell, but the new one fits it like a glove. Created by the blood-obsessed Black Man of Woods, this ritual transmutes the target's blood into dust. Death is immediate. Victims are easily identified by their ashen complexion.

The ritual itself take an hour or so, but its effect is triggered by a simple gesture. This means it's a one-shot weapon, but smart spellbinders will only need one shot. The magus must be able to see their victim when they trigger the effect.

Besides its nasty overpower effects, the most dangerous thing about casting this spell is earning the Black Man's ill will. He is known to send vicious and powerful Created after anyone who usurps his power.

Overpower Effects

• Additional people and animals near the target are also affected.
• The spell contaminates the magus for a few minutes; anything they touch instantly crumbles to dust.
• The Black Man of the Woods reanimates the victim as some kind of golem, who then hunts down and murders the spellbinder.

Underpower Effects

• The effect is only partial, wounding the victim without killing them.
• The spell takes effect slowly, leaving the victim a few extra seconds to retaliate.
