The Jealous God

The powerful Great Spirit that inhabits the trackless deserts of the Middle East is the only one known to crave the exclusive worship of mortals. In fact, first among the commandments he hands down to his faithful is "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

Like all Great Spirits, the Jealous God has withdrawn from the mortal world during recent centuries. Apparently, the exclusive devotion of several hundred million people is enough to sate him. Combined with the fact that the few talismans and rituals he ever created have been hoarded by a handful of groups (principally the Heirs of Solomon), his hand is rarely felt in the modern world.

Angels

The Jealous God is famous for investing incredible amounts of power in his prophets, but there hasn't been one of those in millennia. On rare occasions, his messengers still walk the earth. They are immensely powerful, for lesser spirits, but appear as mortal men. (The wings and halos were added by artists to reflect their "heavenly" origins.) When angered, they can destroy cities.

Fallen Angels

The story of the fallen angels cannot have any historical truth, since The Created are incapable of betraying their creators. These "demons" must instead be lesser spirits and/or Arisen beings that have found their way into the Jealous God's mythology.
